Maxim magazine ranked her one of the "Hottest Women" for the Fall 2008 season of television. Callies made the move in New York City in 2003 shortly after which she was offered her first role on TV. The role she played was Kate O'Malley on Queens Supreme. She had her first major part in the role of the detective Jane Porter in The WB's Tarzan.
